Today goes in the Win Column
Today was a good day.
Not spectacular. I didn’t accomplish anything dramatic.
But today, the home front was smooth.
I woke up before the munchkin. While he’s not quite feeling 100% and is still clingy, he had his two naps. I was able to get about half the house vacuumed and picked up. I was able to prep dinner during his morning nap so that I had some time to relax in the afternoon. This evening I was able to enjoy a (relatively) clean home. My brain wasn’t constantly nagging me to clean up.
I’ve learned this about myself: the conditions around affect my mood and general state of mind. When my home runs smoothly, I feel good. I am more productive.
While there are plenty of things out of my control, I am learning and exploring ways of setting myself up for success. The Army throws a little extra challenge in my efforts: frequent moves, unpredictable schedules, a little extra stress. But hey, that’s the life. 🙂
Over the next few weeks, I’m going to highlight some of the ways that I “make a home”.
Have any tricks to share? I’m always looking to learn!
