Ahhhh….I worked out

It’s not the starting a new workout that I find difficult. I’m one of those strange folks that enjoys working out. The struggle lies in my brain’s inablity to adjust to my less fit body. So I over do it.

And then I hurt. Which can make it tough to keep going.

I made a very conscious choice that I had hit a wall. I simply couldn’t keep not feeling well. It’s time to clean up the way I eat, even if my husband wants to eat junk. It’s time to be able to keep up with my very active 4 year old, even if that means reducing some of my volunteer obligations and cutting back how much I’m working.

It simply doesn’t matter what it takes. Something has to happen.

I decided to let our military move give me a clean break. New town, new house, new habits, new routine. I signed up for a gym even before I signed my son up for school- and that was a tough one for me. My first instinct was to get him completely squared away before even thinking about my goals. But the reality is that I have plenty of time to do that. I don’t have plenty of time to address my health, the extra weight I carry, how tired I am on a daily basis, and the changes I need to make.

So THIS time, I didn’t wait. I’m cleaning up the way my family is eating. Since I had restock my pantry from scratch, I’m just not bringing in the junk. I’m working out. And it’s time to make something happen.

  1. You can do it! I hear ya about the extra weight…it motivated me (and the fact that my DH talked me into doing a Tough Mudder) to start running. I’m still a newbie but I’m loving the way I feel after, even if I don’t enjoy it while it’s happening. I wish I could enjoy working out but I never have…

  2. That’s always been me and running. I love the way it makes me feel but I don’t necessarily enjoy doing it!
