Hiatus from Vacation

This is my 100th post. Craziness.

I’m about halfway through this summer’s marathon “vacation”. I put quotes around vacation because it’s not that we’re going on vacation, exactly. My InLaws came to visit for a week (during which my horse became very ill and Monkey had an ER trip). Three days later we took (what was supposed to be) a six hour road trip to my brother’s place for a family visit (and drove in and out and back into a band of severe thunderstorms and torrential rain). A much easier night drive brought us home with my 11 year old sister along for a visit. We’re home for two weeks before Sister, Monkey and I fly across the country to my parents while the Soldier stays home. Six weeks in all of not-my-usual-routine. And I like my routine.

I have several half done blog posts that I need to dedicate a little time to finishing but they are in the works. All that driving gave me time to read to On Combat which I think is a solid recommended read for ANY military or law enforcement spouse and I plan to blog about it 🙂

Off to run some errands, help out  preggo friend and try to stay cool. Heat index is still over 100!!
