MilSpouse Friday Fill In and New Friend Friday

I’m going to play the Friday meme’s to help me get back into the blogging swing.

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In is hosted by Wife of a Sailor. Give her a visit.

What is ONE thing you’d like civilians to understand about being a military family?
That just because I choose to keep a positive attitude doesn’t mean I don’t struggle. I have had so many people say “I couldn’t do what you do” and other variations. I didn’t choose my husband because I felt that all the time apart was the lifestyle I wanted. I married HIM and he just happens to be a Soldier.
What is your favorite mistake?
Staying in WA after I met my Soldier just to see what happened. Definitely not the smartest, most thought-out decision I’ve ever made. But we wouldn’t be together if I hadn’t.
What indulgence could you give up for a year?
I guess alcohol. But if it’s so easy to give up, is it really an indulgence? Now, I would really struggle if I had to give up something like hot chocolate all winter, my occaisional trips to Borders, and so on.
If you could be a winged animal, what would you be?
I think falcons are the epitome of grace and power in one
What is one question you’d like to see asked in a future MFF?
What’s the one food you don’t ever get tired of?

New Friend Fridays

It’s New Friend Friday over at The Girl Creative, one of my favorite blog meme’s. I’ve found the most interesting blogs through The Girl Creative, including some great html help!

  1. Amen to marrying our spouse because of them & not the military lifestyle. I never even imagined marrying a soldier, but here I am four years later. I’ve definitely done my fair share of growing and changing to adapt to the lifestyle! Thanks for sharing!

  2. I wrote a blog post about being told “I dont know how you do it”. I met him before he was in the military and we had broken up. He joined in that time and then we got back together. I never took into consideration the fact he was a soldier. All I knew is that I never wanted to spend my life without him. Isnt that why civilians get married too? They never get told “oh your husband does such and such I could never be that wife”
