I love homecomings

This week I traveled back to sunny (ha ha!) Ft Lewis to welcome home the 4-9 and my little brother (Lt Bro). Since his fiancee’s school commitments prevented her from coming out, Mom and I prepped the house he’ll be sharing with a couple friends by making beds, getting essentials in the bathrooms and stocking the fridge and pantry. It’s my personal belief that every soldier arriving home should have food, shower and bed ready and waiting. 🙂

For this particular soldier, we made sweet tea (in the overly, sickly sweet way he likes), pasta salad, snack basket of various treats.

Then it was off to Ft Lewis to get vehicle passes for parents’ cars and wait for the guys to arrive. The 4-9 ADVON party and Rear D did a wonderful job on the Homecoming Ceremony. They had a video projector that showed live feed of the guys coming off the plane, then showed Alice and Wonderland (disney version) for the kids during the weapons turn in.

Welcome Home and Thank You for your Service.
